Hey there! I’m so excited to share with you my Christmas dress for this year. I designed it with inspiration from the 50s. I had a couple bumps in the road but it turned out beautiful. I’m so proud of this dress and it was so fun to wear.
This dress was made from crepe backed satin but was originally going to be made from real satin but I didn’t buy enough and the color was discontinued. The fabric frayed really badly so I had to use pinking sears on most of the edges. I used three yards of it to make the whole dress. I didn’t put a zipper in this dress because I was able to put it on over my head. Since I didn’t have a zipper I decided to tie the shoulder sash in the back.
I used the pattern for my homecoming bodice for this dress. I did a gathered skirt made with a rectangle the was 24×96 and used roughly 3 yards for the skirt. I used two rectangular pieces for the shoulder sash and gathered them in the middle. I might have finished it at the last minute but it turned out so amazing . I can’t believe it turned out so pretty. So perfect for christmas!
